Aposelemis Gorge Walk in Crete

Aposelemis gorge: hiking and walking tour

The Aposelemis gorge is a perfect alternative for people who find booking a walking tour to Samaria gorge at Chania too early or too far. A good balance between hiking and walking. Even children love this adventurous hike.

In 2000 the people from Eye Travel in Chersonisos discovered a beautiful gorge near Hersonissos. Stunned by the beauty of nature and the easy path through the gorge, they decided that everybody needed to see it. From that moment they started organising tours in small groups (max 20 pers) through this gorge guided by one of the Eye Travel team members.

This gorge is about 8 km long, takes around 3,5 hours to walk. Because it has some small obstacles on the way down good shoes are a must. You will see untouched nature, some birds of prey, vultures,… The real Cretan flora and fauna. Your tour guide will stop regularly for a few minutes to explain everything wonderful you see.

You can book this tour exclusively with us. See some of the great pictures to get an impression.

After the walking/hiking part, we bring you to a traditional taverna, to use the toilet and enjoy a small lunch. The lunch is a typical Cretan lunch with bread salads a pease of delicious barbequed or grilled meat and some house wine and water. The unique chance to relax and to share your experience with your guide and the group.

This tour is a must when you are on Crete, in the Heraklion, Chersonisos and Malia area.
